What conditions should I book a sick visit for?
Conditions requiring a sick visit may include:
- Respiratory infections like flu, bronchitis, and sinusitis
- Ear pain and infections
- Severe cough or sore throat
- Headaches and migraines
- Abdominal pain

- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds

Sick visits are also available for patients experiencing acute symptoms of a chronic condition like asthma, arthritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or leg ulcers.
Some conditions require immediate care that you can only get in a hospital emergency room. When you visit Diligence Care Plus for a sick visit, your provider asks for details of your symptoms, checks your medical history, and completes a physical exam. They may order necessary lab services, like blood tests, a throat swab, or a urinalysis.
The goal of your provider is to diagnose your symptoms quickly and accurately, so you can benefit from the treatments you need to recover.
What treatment might I need after a sick visit?
If you have an injury, your provider cleans and dresses your wounds and stitches them if necessary. They can give you a tetanus immunization booster if you need one. Your provider can apply compression bandages to support a strain or sprain or use a sling to support a damaged arm or shoulder.
You might need medications for some illnesses. If you have a bacterial infection, your provider might prescribe antibiotics. However, these won’t work against viral infections like colds and flu. Medicines also help relieve pain and inflammation.
In addition, your provider can recommend ways to improve your comfort and encourage healing, like rest, gentle activities, or a plain diet. If you need a follow-up appointment, your provider advises you before you go.
